The Beach Bully BBQ Restaurant

A local favorite for both dining in or catering Beach Bully (601 19th St. VA Beach, VA. 23451 757-422-4222) houses yet another of my personal favorite sammiches, but besides that they have some of the best ribs, chicken, and bbq sauces around. Beach Bully has been around since 1986 where it was first located on 31st St. and now sits at 19th St. and has been serving tasty, tender, juicy ribs, brisket, and chicken ever since. With an old rustic smoke house look and feel on the outside and in, and a very friendly staff always able to steer you in the right direction whether it's your first time there or you've been there a 100 times, but just not sure what you want. They do offer bottled beer along with soda and tea, they also make their own BBQ sauces and rubs, as well as hand cut their fries. With a menu that includes everything from chicken sandwich to grilled tuna fillet and baby back ribs to fried and BBQ chicken. They also offer flounder, platters of meats, as well as salads and corned beef. Whether your feeding 1 or 1000 they got you covered, and the catered food is just as good as if you were sitting in the restaurant eating.
For me one of my personal favorites from here is the Super Bully sliced beef(i prefer mine rare) sammich, my suggestion is to get it the way they recommend and that is with melted cheddar cheese and grilled onions. Then you get 2 sides with it and i suggest you get yourself some cole slaw and fries, then you pop the top on your sammy and apply a few fries and some slaw, oh yeah and a touch of the homemade mahogany sauce. This is indeed a sammich fit for a king, or a local straight out the water, a tourist with a healthy appetite, or just everyone's inner fat kid. Make sure you have about 2-3 hours to nap afterward, it will send you into hibernation. With all the sandwiches they offer you can get just the sammy, a super bully(has more meat) and both are available as platters with 1 or 2 sides. My wife loves the fried chicken, but does say don't get it if your in a hurry cause it does take a little while to cook (good shizz comes to those who wait). I've also enjoyed a tasty rack of ribs or 2 as well as their North Carolina style pork BBQ and both are quite delicious and can be enjoyed on a warm summer day or a cold winter afternoon.
The Beach Bully is a mainstay at the VA Beach oceanfront and it's evident in the loyal customer base they have, and the fact that any time you go in there you will see some kind of rescue workers eating. Whether it be a copper, marine police, firemen, paramedics, or lifegaurds, and usually where you see rescue workers eating, you can bet it's a good place to eat.

Damn mickey fickey that shizz is the cat's pajamas, and i think i'm gonna pass the word like a collection plate at a Sunday service.
